Collection: Educator in Space

When I learned that I had gotten selected to fly to space with Inspiration4 I knew that I wanted to bring my career as a teacher with me. I remember the Challenger accident and the impact the Teacher in Space program had on me. When I applied to be a NASA astronaut, I represented myself as a teacher. I felt I could bring my own spin to this legacy by creating the Educator in Space patch with my friend Erin Bonilla.You will notice that this patch combines my Space2inspire logo, which was created by Erin, into the design of the patch. I think it captures who I am as a geoscientist, artist and astronaut.
