Mercury Program Patches4space

The Mercury astronauts, all military test pilots, chose not to adopt the tradition of mission patches. They suited up in their iconic silver spacesuits wearing only the NASA meatball — and the rest, as they say, is history. But the patches that came later? They're works of art, full of symbolism, personality, and some pretty incredible stories. From the shape of the Liberty Bell to a crack that says more than words ever could, from the name "Freedom 7" to a faith star that carries a story so powerful it stopped both Sian and Beth cold — this episode is a love letter to the people, the firsts, and the artistry behind humanity's earliest missions to space. And yes — they each picked a favorite. You'll have to tune in to find out if they agreed.
