Dragon Eye Reflections

This is the first piece I completed when I returned from space. I started it before I went as a way to think about what I would paint while up on orbit. When you look at my orbital painting you will see the similarities between these two pieces. I created this piece using markers and what I love about it is how I represented AfroGaia and her beautiful ocean hair. The poem represents me missing my own mother during my training and flight to space.
